ih8sn0w, an iOS hacker and developer of snowbreeze jailbreak, has just released an updated version of snowbreeze 2.8 for iOS 5 beta 1 jailbreak. This updated version of snowbreeze adds support for untethered iOS 5 jailbreak on iPhone 3GS (old bootrom) ONLY. So if you have a iPhone 3GS with old bootrom, you can have a fully untethered jailbreak on iOS 5 beta 1 using snowbreeze 2.8b2 on Windows.

Everything else remains the same except from adding support for fully untethered jailbreak for iPhone 3GS (old bootrom). You can jailbreak (tethered) all other iDevices (except iPad 2) on iOS 5 in tethered mode meaning that you have to connect your iDevice to your computer on every reboot.

Note : All other iDevices other than iPhone 3GS (old bootrom) are still in tethered boot mode and can't be untethered jailbroken using snowbreeze 2.8b2.

For tutorial on untethered jailbreaking iPhone 3GS using snowbreeze 2.8b2, follow the link below. iPhone 3GS (old bootrom) users don't need to follow “Booting Into Tethered Mode” steps as it has untethered jailbreak on iOS 5 now.
